Real Property Management and Assessment for U.S. Marine Forces Reserve

—Forrest Lamb, USMC MARFORRES

Paper will present a concept of how Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES), will be able to use GIS, to conduct real property assessments such as damage evaluation associated with natural disasters for their facilities. Using tablet or ultra mobile devices, data from multiple sources such as SDSFIE, real property databases of record, documents, photos, US Army Corps of Engineers Automated Route Reconnaissance Kit (ARRK) can be combined into surveys for field validation. Field survey results are collected by a central GIS-enabled application for data validation and can be viewed providing information to decision makers or exported for use in other enterprise systems. Information can be combined with demographics, standoff distances, land-use, footprints, functional usage, condition, etc. and visualized in a web dashboard. ArcGIS Server 10, ArcGIS API for Microsoft Silverlight, ArcGIS Engine Runtime 10, and an enterprise geo-database running Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 are all used to present this real property and FM information within a feature rich map environment.
