Sources of Transportation Statistics

This presentation begins with an overview of transportation statistics sources (both general and specific) produced by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS). It includes an introduction to BTS airline traffic, financial and on-time data in various formats, including the TranStats database, as well as other BTS products such as Border Crossing, Transborder Freight and Commodity Flow Survey data. Other statistics sources outside of BTS, including highway safety and infrastructure data, railway, transit, maritime, and financial statistics will also be included. The presentation will also discuss early plans for leveraging GIS technologies to disseminate border crossing statistics.
