TACCIMO-GIS: a collaborative case study on assessing climate change impacts

—Jennifer Moore Myers, USDA Forest Service

The USDA Forest Service is developing the Template for Assessing Climate Change Impacts and Management Options (TACCIMO), a web-based tool connecting forest planning with peer-reviewed climate change science. TACCIMO provides current and credible climate change science for natural resource planning and management activities. Users can browse the information or generate reports focused on specific resource management issues. TACCIMO also delivers high-resolution climate forecasts via a custom geospatial interface. Users can produce tailored maps, charts, and tables to accompany their TACCIMO reports. As users interact with the map (e.g., zoom, pan), graphical summaries and climate change content are dynamically updated.

TACCIMO started as a government-to-government project, providing a durable connection between the agency's scientists and planners. Future versions will leverage existing content and expand offerings for state and private audiences. This presentation will offer an overview of TACCIMO and an in-depth look at its geospatial resources, interactive tools, and other features.
