The New SDSFIE 3.0: Early Implementation Experiences

A Beta version of the SDSFIE 3.0 was released early in 2010, and a number of activities to better understand how the standard will be implemented have been conducted using that Beta. All the Components have performed Pilot Studies to explore how SDSFIE adaptation and migration would work in their specific SDSFIE 3.0 implementation approaches, and they are using the results of these Pilot Studies to formally prepare implementation plans to migrate their Component legacy SDSFIE data. Specific findings from the Marine Corps pilot study will be presented. These early findings are also being used to better shape the governance approach that will be used to collect evolving user requirements, control change management, and formally document and enforce a consensus understanding of SDSFIE 3.0 compliance.
