Toward supporting open government initiatives and providing detailed information about investments through the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA), the US Environmental Protection Agency utilized ESRI's ArcGIS Flex API in developing a web mapping interface to allow the public to drill down and view information at the community level, showing how these funds are being invested across 6 environmental program areas: Superfund and Hazardous Waste Cleanup, addressing Leaking Underground Storage Tanks, Clean Water programs, Drinking Water, Clean Diesel programs, and Brownfields reclamation.
