ArcGIS 10 for Imagery — What's New Including Image Analysis Window and Mosaic Datasets

—Gerry Kinn, Jim Michel, and Lawrie Jordan, Esri

This presentation will focus on what is new in ArcGIS 10 for GIS applications that use imagery. ArcGIS Desktop has a new interface for imagery workflows, Image Analysis for ArcGIS. This has many functional similarities to an electronic light table. Image Analysis also supports on-the-fly processing of imagery. All this functionality is enhanced by taking advantage of a mosaic dataset, which is a new method for managing imagery at version 10. There are also new capabilities at the server tier that make the managing and serving of imagery both easier and more comprehensive. You will see that it is much simpler to use imagery to get the most from this resource, and will also get insight into the long-term direction that Esri is taking for imagery.
