ArcGIS Support for Federal GIS Standards

Interoperability of GIS is critical for all federal agencies. This session will cover many of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and Open Geospatial Consortium, Inc. (OGC), standards endorsed by the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) and the Geospatial-Intelligence Standards Working Group (GWG). Attendees will learn about Esri's continued support for interoperability including new functionality available in ArcGIS 10. This session will be beneficial to those wanting to understand what the various GIS standards accomplish and how they support interoperability. Standards covered will include geospatial data management, data format, and Web services. The presentation will focus on providing users with a practical overview of how standards are used in GIS.
