Abstract
Our Town: A GIS Story

Submitted Abstract: This paper will describe the last 20 years of GIS development in a small town setting, with human nature and politics notwithstanding, which applies to any endeavor.
The ongoing development and search for concurrence on a common, cartographic base will be discussed from a past, present and future perspective. Comparisons may be made as this GIS phenomenon developed nationally and similarly in previously isolated town settings.
The paper will discuss as humanly and humorously as possible common gaps and similarities in GIS development which appear to be universal in Florida at the Local and State level.
