Abstract
ArcView Drives Immersive Spherical Video
Track: New Technology and Technology Integration

This paper will introduce the new technology of immersive spherical video and the way in which this video is captured, indexed, cataloged, and retrieved within the ArcView environment. Spherical video enables users to select any viewing angle within the 360-degree spherical view, control playback speed and direction, rewind and freeze frames, and delve into multimedia hot spots. This system has been integrated with a GPS interface that captures and synchronizes location data with the spherical video frames. This georeferencing allows spherical movies to be ported into ArcView as features representing the path of the camera during video capture.
