AbstractRadio-Frequency (RF) Analysis in the GIS Environment Track: Telecommunications Author(s): Nick Canzona This paper presents a methodology that integrates radio frequency (RF) analysis into a familiar GIS work flow: (1) Standard geospatial data management and geoprocessing tools are used to define the analysis environment. (2) GIS-hosted RF analysis tools are used to model and simulate the propagation of RF energy in the environment. (3) Spatial analysis techniques (such as map algebra) and geostatistical techniques (such as kriging) are used to refine and interpret the analysis results. (4) GIS query and display tools are used to create compelling presentations. (5) Geospatial database technology is used to manage the input and output data associated with the RF analysis process.
