Abstract
A Conservation Driven Landcover Project for Alachua County, Florida

Located in north-central Florida, with an abundance of flora and fauna, Alachua County has long needed a detailed land cover data set prepared at the county's scale and for the county's classification needs. This paper will describe a multidepartmental effort, led by the GIS division at the Growth Management Department, to create a conservation-driven land cover data set and two related applications -- an ArcGIS desktop application and an ArcIMS application. Future plans for an ArcIMS client application for database field update will also be discussed.
