AbstractGPS in a Post-SA World Track: Location Services Author(s): Aaron Webb The removal of Selective Availability (SA) by the U.S. government is a significant event in global positioning system (GPS) history, opening up opportunities for many in both the geospatial community and the broader consumer market as a whole. Its removal has made GPS more accurate and accessible, encouraging the development of numerous applications that make use of location within their function. With the removal of SA come numerous questions related to the levels of accuracy that can now be achieved and the continued need for differential correction techniques, both postprocessing and real time. This paper investigates and answers many of those questions related to the removal of SA and the application of GPS in this post-SA world.
