Abstract
Deployment of a Real-Time Kinetic GPS for Henrico County, Virginia

Henrico County has contracted for the deployment of a County-wide Real-Time Kinetic (RTK) GPS. This system is composed of four real-time broadcasting GPS base stations that cover the entire area of the County. These Ashtec base stations collect, archive, and broadcast dual frequency GPS data for use in real-time or postprocessing field GPS measurements. This allows for the calculation of survey-quality coordinate measurements to be used by County and private surveyors throughout the County. This presentation will describe the design, procurement, and installation process to deploy this system. The presentation will also describe the functional expectations of the GPS in relation to the update of data in the County's GIS.
