AbstractIndianapolis Advanced Traffic Management System User System Track: Transportation and Logistics Author(s): Jeff Siegel, Heather Turner, Jay Wasson During design stages of the Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) serving the Indianapolis region, a geodatabase is being compiled representing the location and design details of the elements and devices comprising overall system. This geographically referenced database was developed as a tool that supports and updates design efforts and allows for the communication and delivery of a "living" or "smart" digital design document. The database allows users to search, display, and analyze the devices and connections by location while referencing regional GIS data. The database has the power to reference current design information by location or by device (detector, camera, or site) identifier. This database has the potential for providing Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) with a detailed, as-built database that will allow for the querying and tracking of critical infrastructure and assets. This scope of work details a work plan for the development of specific GIS and database tools to meet the needs of INDOT Intelligent Tranportation Systems (ITS) staff. This project has the objective of further developing the database into a more user-friendly, easy-to-update, and highly accessible system to aid INDOT's ITS engineers in doing their work.
