AbstractEstimate of an Orientation and Rates of Environmental Pollution Changes Within Kiev City with GIS Technologies Track: Ecology, Archaeology, and Conservation Author(s): Michaylo Krasnozon, Natalya Luta, Olena Shevchenko Estimation of soil pollution changes in Kiev was carried out annually in 1987-1990 and 1997 in 400 regime points on a network 1õ1 km in regular intervals describing all functional zones. About 20 percent of regime points the situated within recreational zones; 20 percent - the industrial zones, 30 precent points characterize many-storied housing estates, and thirty percent in-one-story private sector and gardens. Orientation and rates of change of soil pollution density by chemical elements were estimated using the data of regime supervision on the fixed points approved with application of ArcView 3.2. The analysis of the data was followed by regression and trend analyses. The methods of the analysis were realized by using ArcView 3.2 and by a spelling of special program modules integrated in GIS. The cartographical diagrams allow researchers to estimate an orientation and rates of soil pollution change within Kiev City.
