AbstractEsri GIS Brings New Services to Small County in Sandusky County, OH Track: Cadastral and Land Records Author(s): Brian Edwards, Joseph Zumwald In 1991, the Sandusky County Auditor began a program to update, validate, and improve the parcel mapping throughout the County with 30,000 parcels in its 432-square miles. With a staff willing to learn, the County went from hardcopy maps to a total Esri Arc solution. By 1999, the number of users was growing at a higher rate than expected. The public access terminals were always busy, and users were requesting new data and better access. The following year, the County led a program to provide digital orthophotography, a new public access format, and additional Esri tools for the public. This presentation is a case study on data and service development at Sandusky County, Ohio, as it grew from conventional ink drafting directly into an ARC INFO 7.x, ArcView 3.x, and soon a Webhosted GIS environment.
