The objective is to use ArcGIS and ArcFM 8 as an open and generic GIS application with strong emphasis on integration with other information systems. Pidpa aims to work together with other water utilities to define a standard European data model. The paper describes the challenges and issues for its GIS implementation and the steps taken toward the standard European data model.
