Abstract
GeoBase: Transitioning Legacy CADD Map Data to ArcGIS

The Air Force GeoBase program is moving forward with the establishment of a technical architecture. The target solution will likely include Esri software products. A logical next step to this solution is the transition of existing CADD map data to the target architecture. This presentation will use case studies to explore the process of CADD data transition to a standards-based ArcGIS geospatial database. The paper will also provide lessons learned to help individuals understand the challenges that lay ahead in the CADD-to-ArcGIS data conversion process.
