AbstractArcObjects on the Web: The Pennsylvania Geospatial Data Clearinghouse Experience Track: Application Development Author(s): David Walrath The Pennsylvania Spatial Data Access (PASDA) system is the official spatial data clearinghouse for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. PASDA currently serves approximately 25,000 vector and raster data downloads monthly from its Web site. The GIS data stored at PASDA exists in many projections, formats, and spatial extents and therefore does not always meet the exact requirements of the user. To better accommodate PASDA users, researchers are engaged in an ongoing effort to develop Web-based tools, implemented with ArcObjects components, that will enable users to clip and reproject both vector and raster GIS data during the download process. This paper will present an overview of the application architecture and describe the experiences with deploying ArcObjects components in Internet applications.
