AbstractThe Missing Link Between Land Records and GIS Track: Cadastral and Land Records Author(s): Andrew Fox, Joe Rubisch Most information collected by local government is related to the parcel GIS foundation layer. Collection of parcel information starts in the Clerk's or Recorder's office, which is generally not well-integrated with the work flow of the rest of local government. As a result, there is a "missing link" between the office responsible for recording changes in parcel geography and attribution and other offices that use that information in their GIS. International Land Systems developed a land records management system that integrates GIS technology from Esri and shares information with applications developed by NovaLIS for parcel maintenance, permitting, and property assessment.
