Abstract
Enterprise GIS in Water Distribution System at Otay Water District
Track: Water Distribution, Wastewater, and Stormwater

This paper presents the implementation procedure and applications of an enterprise GIS at Otay Water District, the second largest district of San Diego County. The enterprise GIS efficiently locates spatial information and data through a user-friendly Web-based GIS application using Esri's ArcIMS for internal access and ArcView for mobile access to high-precision GPS facility data. GIS serves as the central data repository for water and sewer facilities. The Web-based GIS application is connected to the DBMS, provides access to both engineering drawings and customer service database, and serves as the platform for water modeling.
