AbstractMapping the Yukon Warship and Artificial Reef Track: Ocean, Coastal, and Marine Resources Author(s): Andrew Abouna The former HCMS Yukon was a Canadian destroyer escort that sailed almost a million miles to 30 countries. After decommissioning the ship made a final voyage to San Diego, California, where it was transformed into an artificial reef. Using ArcView GIS, an extensive, detailed map of the ship was created for the San Diego Oceans Foundation to show the layout of each deck, compartment, and identification of more than 100 holes. The map enhances scuba diver enjoyment and safety of this wonderful underwater playground and marine habitat. A number of other successful educational and profit-making products were also created with GIS for the Yukon Artificial Reef project.
