AbstractUSGS Maps-On-Line: Interactive On-Line Imaging for the San Francisco Bay Area Track: Metadata and Data Publishing Author(s): Robert Lugo, Todd Helt, Andrew Waxman The USGS Western Geographic Science Center (Menlo Park, California) built and maintains the Maps-On-Line site, which integrates a variety of USGS San Francisco Bay Area data within a highly functional yet easy-to-use Web browser-based Internet GIS environment. The site is powered by Esri's ArcIMS and Telemorphic's Maplicity products and is published on the Geography Network. With Maplicity's unique interactive online image analysis functions and USGS' comprehensive Bay Area geospatial database, the USGS has created the first publicly available Web site that provides users with real-time online interactive image visualization and analysis capabilities.
