Abstract
Benefits of Handling Multi-Modal Transportation Data Efficiently Using TOP
Track: Transportation and Logistics

TOP (Transportation Object Platform) from Atkins Transportation Scandinavia was released in December 2001. TOP was presented at Users Conference 2001 in the paper "Intelligent Management of Mult-Modal Network Data." This paper describes how TOP is implemented in various practical projects around the world and how these projects benefit from the use of TOP. It discusses how TOP can interact with existing data sources and how TOP coexists with UNETRANS as a complementary data model. In addition, the benefits from utilizing the new analysis tools and calculation models included with TOP are explored.
