Abstract
The Spatial Summarizing and Mediating Functions for Mobile Phones

There is a great deal of growth in mobile services, especially location-based information services for cellular phone users. To cope with this, This paper proposes a new mobile GIS function, which consists of the location and direction reflected summarizing geospatial data and mediating the multiple geospatial contents managed by ArcSDE or HiRDB/SSP. Moreover this processed geospatial data is displayed on the mobile phone by utilizing PSVG (Portable Scalable Vector Graphics) browser, under the J2ME plus CLDC/MIDP environment. The evaluation results of this system will also be included.
