AbstractImplementing a GIS-Based Information Retrieval Application for Municipal Government Track: State and Local Government Author(s): Don Burdick This paper will describe the development process for the City of Bellingham information retrieval application. Public Works employees from management to customer service representatives often had to access multiple applications to retrieve basic information. The application was developed as a "one-stop" information retrieval application that could be used throughout the City. Topics of the paper will include evaluating development options, database design and integration, the application development process, and the future direction of the application.
