AbstractApplication of Esri's ArcPad in PDA Through Wireless Interactions Track: Location Services Author(s): Gia Truong, Eric Frost, Mathew Alles Using Esri's ArcPad with personal digital assistants (PDAs) via wireless connection greatly enhances collaborative visualization and real-time decision making. By integrating PDAs to GPS units, geographic field data can be collected and sent via Qualcomm's CDMA wireless technology to command-and-control and processing centers for Web publishing. This process provides visualization to the general public for a huge range of purposes including disaster mitigation. The Web-published information can be displayed properly to other mobile users through the Cisco Content Transformation Engine (CTE). The wireless connection and CTE help maximize ArcPadSoftware's potential performance to ArcPad Software's PDA users and other wireless users.
