AbstractA Case Study: Using ArcSDE and ASP to Integrate GIS into an Enterprise-Wide Information Management Solution Track: System Implementation for GIS Author(s): Kimberly Garbade, E. Boyd The paper will present a case study of the creation of an enterprise GIS as part of an integrated Marine Information Management System (MIMS) commissioned by the Jacksonville Port Authority. In total, the information stored by the MIMS supports more than 1,500 acres and 150 personnel across three working seaport terminals. The GIS encompasses data from more than 100 feature classes ranging from water/wastewater facilities to property management and environmental monitoring. Also discussed will be the lessons learned in creating an enterprisewide distributed application available through a Web browser and serving information needs using ArcGIS 8/ArcSDE and HTML in conjunction with ArcIMS and ASP.
