AbstractIdentifying Potential for Reserved Truck-Ways Track: Transportation and Logistics Author(s): Martin Catala, Stephen Reich The importance of truck movements to a state's economy, coupled with the safety and environmental implications of heavy trucks in mixed traffic with automobiles, suggests that there may be locations where reserved truck lanes or even separate truck ways should be considered. This project examines the potential for reserved truck lanes and truck ways on Florida's State Highway System. Using ArcGIS Spatial Analyst, a site-suitable model was created to identify areas that have a high potential for reserved truck ways. The results are to be followed up with site visits the purpose of performing case studies of areas with high suitability.
