AbstractWisconsin Historical Society GIS Project: Its Technical Aspects Track: Ecology, Archaeology, and Conservation Author(s): Peter Thum, Jim Cory, Puneet Kishor The Wisconsin Historical Society GIS Project is a Web-based project that serves the Division of Historic Preservation's needs for mandatory compliance reviews, archaeological site and survey records, and architectural records. Four applications, developed by GeoAnalytics, use Internet browsers and MacroMedia ColdFusion to connect to Oracle and Esri's ArcIMS. These applications provide for the agency's daily business activities of data entry, compilation, and analyses as well as providing selective access to regional staff, and local and State agencies. This presentation will briefly describe the project, illustrate the functionality of the applications, and focus on the technical aspects of the project.
