AbstractDeveloping a Traffic Calming Model for Tahoe Park Track: Transportation and Logistics Author(s): Steven Rhyne, Lance Pagel This paper will outline practices in developing a sound GIS traffic calming model. Many communities are always trying to find better ways to improve their surrounding environment. In this instance, the Tahoe Park community was being used for cut-through traffic from one corridor to another. This added a significant amount of traffic, which created several safety issues. This paper will describe in detail the community's issues and how much of an impact they had. The data collection process, how the data was used to build a model, and the results that were generated to improve the commuity's environment will be discussed. Steven Rhyne Fehr Peers Assoc.
