AbstractIntegration of Surveying and Cadastral GIS: From Field-to-Fabric & Land Records-to-Fabric Track: Cadastral and Land Records Author(s): Arvind Ganesan The benefits of survey measurement-based GIS implementation include the ability to convert, collect, integrate, edit, and preserve cadastral/survey information from diverse sources including incorporation of Field-to-Fabric and Land Records-to-Fabric overriding concepts. Field-to-Fabric refers to the creation, editing, and maintenance of parcel data using field survey measurements and GPS data transmitted from the field. Land Records-to-Fabric refers to the creation, editing, and maintenance of a parcel layer through intelligent extraction, interpretation, and use of survey data found in scanned land records. The session will include discussion and demonstration of parcel mapping/cadastral technologies including land records-specific OCR and text-to-vector conversation.
