Abstract
Challenges Along the Way to a Statewide GIS Basemap
Track: Cadastral and Land Records

A comprehensive State-wide digital parcel database built upon a foundation of digital orthoimagery was requested by the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration. This paper provides information on management tasks, hurdles, blunders, and repairs required in order to provide a comprehensive and seamless State-wide data set. With data conversion taking place on a county-by-county basis, data inputs are pulled from a diverse array of government entities and formats. Technical, social, and monetary goals had to be overcome.
