AbstractLandscape Values: A Visual Sensitivity Case Study in the Canadian Rockies Track: Forestry, Wildlife, and Fisheries Management Author(s): Tammy Kobliuk The 5,000-square-kilomete study area for this project is located in Southwest Alberta and includes the Porcupine Hills and the Castle River/Livingstone areas of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Identification of visually sensitive areas allows for special management considerations in a planning context. For the purpose of landscape management, the process of evaluating the visual sensitivity of a large landscape included the following elements: a visual preference survey of the public, assignment of visual qualities to landscape elements, evaluation of the visual effects of disturbance, and an analysis of the visibility of the landscape from commonly traveled corridors.
