Abstract


GIS Strategies for Force Protection
Track: Defense and Intelligence

This session will present strategy for utilizing GIS for the purpose of force protection. There are many issues involved in a force protection operation such as balancing threat and safety, managing of multiple standoff distances for different types of facilities, utilizing various types of barriers, and managing assigned personnel. Some other topics to be addressed will be the importance of maintaining current and accurate facility information, making a system flexible, and having the ability to access the system in the field.
