AbstractEnabling Watershed Protection Through the National Hydrography Dataset Track: Water Resources Author(s): Tommy Dewald The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has worked closely with the U.S. Geological Survey and other partners over the past decade to develop and apply the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) in support of watershed protection efforts across the country. At EPA, the NHD serves as the hydrologic framework for integrating data collected by many different water programs including water quality standards and assessments, permitted dischargers, impaired waters (Total Maximum Daily Loads), fish consumption advisories, and beaches. This presentation will describe current and planned Office of Water activities and products that build upon the foundation provided by the NHD.
