AbstractMaking an Atlas for the Tabletop and Environmental Decision Support Track: Cartography and Map Production Author(s): Marcus Diederich, Melissa Brenneman, Steve Hoover As part of a series of products designed to serve the informational and educational needs of a broad stakeholder group, the Salton Sea Atlas focuses on the characterization of environmental change at the Salton Sea. The Salton Sea--California's largest inland water body--faces a wide variety of environmental policy and management decisions, which require common understanding of complex scientific, social, and economic issues. Through an iterative and collaborative process, GIS analysis and cartography was used to synthesize expert input to present easily understood, graphically compelling, and engaging information.
