Abstract
An Integrated Data Management System for Environmental and Geospatial Data

EGIS is an integrated data management system designed with a scalable architecture for a single user or a client/server enterprise system. The environmental database is patterned after the Air Force-wide Environmental Resource Program Information Management System (ERPIMS). The geodatabase is designed from the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) and served up with ArcSDE 8.1. An integrated set of software tools was developed for data management, data input and validation, and data query utilizing SQL, MapObjects, ArcIMS, ArcInfo, and ArcView. EGIS has been implemented in a number of Army and EPA RCRA and CERCLA Superfund sites.
