Abstract
The Use of GIS in the Mobile Data Environment
Track: Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice

This presentation will address the use of GIS in vehicles used for public safety purposes. We will also discuss the implementation of mobile data networks and integration of these systems to related CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) and RMS (Records Management Systems). With the use of Esri based mapping technology, mobile mapping can depict a vehicles location, the location of other vehicles, site data, as well as generate routes for delivered incident events. In vehicle mapping integrated with mobile data technology is revolutionizing the public safety industry.
