AbstractSpatial Hydrological Description Comparison of Diamond Y Springs Preserve Track: Ecology, Archaeology, and Conservation Author(s): Matthew Grunstra The hydrology of the Diamond Y Springs Preserve, located in Pecos County Texas in the eastern part of the Chihuahuan desert, is unknown and un-described. This study will map the levels of salinity and major ions of the soil and surface water. Maps and surfaces will be generated using ArcView 3.2 software and extensions. The depth and ionic composition of the groundwater will be studied to determine possible seasonal fluctuation. From this data set, relationships will be examined between locations of the ecological communities and the composition and level of the groundwater.
