Abstract
Creation of an Enterprise GIS (EGIS) for the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA)

Beginning in 2001, the NTTA undertook an initiative to manage their substantial data sets by implementing an Enterprise Geographic Information System in order to make better decisions and to more efficiently administer their resources. During this session the successful methodology utilized in the implementation of the NTTA's EGIS will be presented. Topics such as essential needs assessment and implementation plan elements, project team structure, project prioritization, data quality and acquisition, key deliverables, standards, and project management will be discussed. In addition, integration strategies with the agency's financial, toll collection, asset and facility management, and construction management software will be addressed. Examples of milestone applications will be demonstrated.
