AbstractMaps-to-Place: Internet Mapping in Support of Biodiversity Conservation Track: Ecology, Archaeology, and Conservation Author(s): Frank Biasi, Christoph Spoerri Maps-To-Place is an Internet initiative that seeks to provide Web-based access to all Conservancy information through interactive maps and place-based queries. Audiences include staff and trustees, conservation partners, landowners, donors, members, media and the public. The type of information available includes tabular data from various internal databases (both conservation as business related), documents (plans, reports, articles), staff contacts, photographs, video clips, etc. It also includes a wide variety of GIS data layers needed to conduct and communicate conservation activities at various scales from preserve to global. Access to individual data objects are based on user level, category, or network domain.
