AbstractWhere's the Work? Managing Work Orders with Maps Track: Water Distribution, Wastewater, and Stormwater Author(s): Nancy Pullen, Bob Snodgrass Serving more than 575,000 people, the City of Boston is the heart of the sixth largest metropolitan area in the country. Boston Water and Sewer Commission (BWSC) provides water distribution and wastewater collection services for the City. The replacement of the current maintenance management system (MMS) at BWSC provided an exciting opportunity to change how information is collected, used and reported. BWSC has one of the first truly integrated systems utilizing a fully developed GIS. With it, they provide day-to-day use of data across departments, supporting enterprise-wide objectives. This paper presents benefits and practical uses of pairing spatial and attribute data in the MMS, and the demonstration illustrates them via several scenarios.
