Abstract
Building Re-usable Components for Very Rapid MapObjects Application Development

This paper describes the development of a suite of re-usable components, based on MapObjects 2.x. The components can be used to very rapidly build applications and embedded GIS systems. An overview of the technical architecture is presented in order to demonstrate how high reliability, binary re-use and stability have been achieved. The paper also describes some of the ways in which the component suite has been utilised in a range of public sector and commercial projects in the UK.
