AbstractInterpolating Groundwater Pollutant Plumes Detected at the Massachusetts Military Reservation (MMR) Track: Water Resources Author(s): Dean Barbo A detailed GIS is used to display the spatial patterns and distribution of contaminants found in soil and groundwater at the Massachusetts Military Reservation (MMR). In this ongoing study, AMEC modeled the flow rate, distribution, and spread of groundwater pollutant plumes originating within the Central Impact Area. Of concern is the issue of converting output from GMS to ArcInfo due to the varying grid sizes within one contour. ArcGIS Geostatistical Analyst, ArcGIS 3D Analyst, ArcInfo, and kriging techniques are used to display and interpolate groundwater pollutant plumes based upon data output from these custom groundwater models and monitoring wells.
