GIS + Analytics = Better Business Decisions

This paper profiles how businesses can use GIS and analytical tools to improve the speed and quality of business decisions. GIS systems effectively segment data. Segmenting or "slicing and dicing" is a tried and true method for distilling large amounts of information into manageable portions. Analytics such as modeling and scoring can then be applied to segmented data to provide even greater insight: Where are my best customers? Is my choice of location optimizing my profit potential? What combination of patterns most influences the success of my marketing effort? This paper explores how analytics combine with GIS for better business decisions.
