AbstractGIS in Public Transportation Planning and Production: Integrating HASTUS, PubTrans, and ArcView GIS Track: Transportation and Logistics Author(s): Michael Eriksen, Rasmus Jensen Greater Copenhagen Authority has been using GIS as an integral part of the operational planning and decision making process for several years. Recently work has begun to integrate data from the HASTUS 5.9 system directly into the ArcSDE-based GIS system. Data are exchanged automatically between the GIS system and the HASTUS 5.9 planning system. Route calculations and other GIS related tasks are performed in the GIS system and the detailed timetable planning are done in HASTUS. When the planning process are done, the data are automatically delivered to the PubTrans system. This utilizes the detailed GIS data and ensures a high degree of data integrity between the systems.
