Abstract
Developing a Center Pivot Irrigation Map for Colorado

Utilizing 16 frames of Landsat Thematic Mapper data collected in summer and fall of 1999, a center pivot irrigation map was produced. The Landsat frames had significant overlap, allowing us to locate the pivots on more than one frame, which increased the accuracy significantly. The entire state was nearly cloud free as well. Digitizing was completed using ArcView 3.2 to produce a shapefile of pivot polygons. Large scale county maps were plotted at CSU and taken to the field for accuracy checking by Cooperative Extension Service personnel.
