AbstractLIDAR Support to a Special Event Track: Homeland Security Author(s): G. Doenges The Rapid Terrain Visualization (RTV) program provided data to a GIS based hazard and consequences analyses application, to support crisis and consequences management for the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. That effort included LIDAR collection, production of raster products (DEMs with/without buildings), and extraction from the raster products of attributed vector feature data such as building footprints. The resulting building information was integrated into the CATS-JACE and HPAC applications for 2D/3D visualization, for predicting structural damage to buildings due to high explosive blasts, and for predicting the airborne dispersion of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) agents in an urban environment.
