Abstract
Implementing a GIS-Based Fire Response Program in the City of Temecula, California

The City of Temecula, in an effort to enhance its response capabilities in fire-related emergency incidents, is implementing a GIS-based fire response program. This program utilizes Plant Equipment Inc.'s (PEI) Orion MapMobile and MapManager software to integrate the City's GIS data with pre-plan/floor plan information maintained in FireZone to automate fire response procedures and reduce response times. The City's Fire field units have been equipped with mobile computer systems to display GIS data and access pre-plan floor plan information. This program is a pilot project for potential implementation throughout the County of Riverside.
